Limited Surface Preparation:
To obtain a strong bond or link between two substrates many adhesives need a high degree of surface preparation. Some adhesive systems rely on the application of other chemicals which have the effect of altering the surface tension of the substrate. In an adhesive application it is important for the substrate to have a higher surface tension than that of the adhesive.
The SLS 100 and SLS 200 have a very low surface tension thus in many instances other than a simple wipe with a rag no other surface preparation is not required. Materials such as Aluminium, Steel, Concrete and Plastic generally only need the wipe, however as with all applications a simple test should be carried out to ensure an adequate bong is obtained. Environmentally Friendly:
In today’s world Industry is looking to ensure that the products they use have a minimal effect on the environment. The SLS 100 and SLS 200 do not contain or generate any solvents and isocyanates. These are environmentally harmful elements which are present in many other adhesives.
Couple this with the limited surface preparations which are required (In almost all surface preparation systems a solvent based product is used) the SLS 100 and SLS 200 offer a very effective safe system for industry today.
